"You and I come by road or rail, but economists travel on infrastructure" said, Margaret Thatcher, the first woman prime minister of United Kingdom.
Civil Engineering, being the backbone of infrastructural development of any country, deals with planning, design and construction of buildings, dams, bridges, tunnels etc. and takes care of provision of water resources, Water and sewage treatment facilities. Civil engineering graduates have huge demand as project managers, structural consultants, construction engineers in wide variety of fields like public works, roadways, railways, armed forces and engineering services.
Established in the year, 2014, the department currently offers under graduate program in Civil Engineering with an yearly intake of 60 students. At our department, we encourage students to think, to plan, to design, to construct and to maintain infrastructure innovatively.
The curriculum provides exposure to subjects like Structural Engineering, Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering etc. Further, the state of the art laboratories enable students to understand the concepts of Civil engineering deeply.
The Faculties working in the department are well qualified from reputed academic institutions like IITs, IISc and NITs and possess high aptitude in innovation & research. We strive to make the teaching learning process centered around technical skills and their applicability, so as to enable students to achieve holistic personality.
'We firmly believe that our students will be the future innovators in the field of Civil Engineering'
